The PNW Trackers Association began in Fall 1979 as a small group of beginning trackers. The group continued to meet on a regular basis to improve their tracking skills and decided to get involved with search and rescue.
In 1982, the association became an accepted volunteer unit for KCSARA. In 2001, King County had 127 total missions, of which 47 were searches. PNWT logged 313 hours. The group also held 14 training sessions and assisted with basic tracking classes at the Washington State SAR Conference.
The members continue to receive training from Joel Hardin Professional Tracking Services to upgrade their skills.
