Background

Pacific Northwest Trackers Association (PNWT) began in Fall 1979 as a small group of beginning trackers. The group continued to meet on a regular basis to improve their tracking skills and decided to get involved with search and rescue.

In 1982, the association became an accepted volunteer unit for King County Search and Rescue Association (KCSARA). . The group responds to searches for lost persons, autistic/dementia walkaways, as well as crime scene investigations both in-town and in the wilderness.

The members continue to receive training from Joel Hardin Professional Tracking Services/ Visual Tracking and Training Inc. to maintain and upgrade their skills.
