Background

Pacific Northwest Trackers Association (PNWT) began in the fall of 1979 as a small group of beginning trackers. The group continued to meet on a regular basis to improve their tracking skills and decided to get involved with search and rescue.

In 1982, the association became an accepted volunteer unit for King County Search and Rescue Association (KCSARA). We respond to searches for lost persons, dementia/autistic walk-away, and crime scene investigations both in town and in the wilderness. We also hold 10-12 training sessions per year locally, in concert with law enforcement and other rescue organizations.

The members continue to receive training from Joel Hardin Professional Tracking Services/ Visual Tracking and Training Inc. (JHPTS/VTATI) to upgrade their skills.
