On Field Readiness
Take two small duffel bags, each a different color. One for field clothes: wool pants,
wool shirt, boots or snowpacks, extra socks, underwear. One for outer wear: coat, hat,
gloves, rain gear, Fillson tin chaps. Easy to grab and run day or night.
It's winter. Put all radios and battery equipment inside coats or vests. They freeze down
if not kept warm. Turn all water bottles upside down. If they freeze, the top always
freezes first. Now the top is the bottom and vice-versa.
